The developer of the popular RPG Shadow Island has recently released a patch that enables cheats. This means that players can do things like: - Max out your level and earn unlimited experience and gold! - Secretly find all levels in the game! This feature is disabled by default, so keep reading to find out how to activate it! - Skip over any required tutorials! It's time to start playing, not learning new skills. - Get rare treasures on every map you enter - without completing any quests or opening chests! You'll be able to draw on this loot with no consequences for your health or progress. - Unlock anything you want! To activate this new cheat system, you need to do some menu editing. Here's how: First, open the ShadowIsland.ini file with a text editor like Notepad. You can find it in your ShadowIsland/saves/MY_SAVE_FILE directory (where "MY_SAVE_FILE" is whatever your current save game is called). It's probably in "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Shadow Island\\saves". If you can't find it there, go to the install directory of the game (typically C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Shadow Island) and open up the folder called saves. Inside there, look for the MY_SAVE_FILE directory. The section of the file you want is like this: Spoileralert------------------- - GameEngineName : MyGameEngineName - GameEngineVersion : 1.0.8-8 - EditFileName : EditFileName (and all its subdirectories) - DeletedFiles : DeletedFiles (and all its subdirectories) - PerformanceDataFiles : PerformanceDataFiles (and all its subdirectories) - MyGameEngineSaveFileName : MyGameEngineSaveFileName (and all its subdirectories) If you see something like this, you're ready to edit the file. If not, read on. First, you need to add some comments to the file. Just start typing [My GameEngineName] at the top of the file and hit "Enter" again: #MyGameEngineName MyGameEngineName # # EditFileName EditFileName (and all its subdirectories) # DeletedFiles DeletedFiles (and all its subdirectories) # PerformanceDataFiles PerformanceDataFiles (and all its subdirectories) # MyGameEngineSaveFileName MyGameEngineSaveFileName (and all its subdirectories) Now, scroll down to where it says "DeletedFiles" and add this line: - sbShadowIsland. ini - If you don't have that file or if you already have it but it's called "shadow.ini" instead, just change the file name to "sbShadowIsland.ini". From here, just replace everything with whatever you want, but be sure NOT to include the new lines at the top of the file! We're not done yet, though! Now make some changes to the "PerformanceDataFiles" section.
